Twenty Fourth & Twenty Fifth Week of LPC

So what have I been doing that caused me to not blog about last week? Not much. Just enjoying my last week of freedom before my electives start & I (yet again) become a permanent resident in the library, living and breathing books all day everyday.

Although, now that my electives have started, I have been super busy and here I am back to the same old routine. But, I do love my electives, so although it's tedious to be in this routine, it's great to be doing/studying something you're passionate about.

But aside from being a hermit in the library I had exactly two weeks from the end of my exams to train as much as I could for the North London Half Marathon?

Honestly, I had been questioning myself for the entire two weeks, and many weeks prior, why exactly I was running this half marathon? I mean, I barely have any experience in professional marathon running, and had barely done any training, how the heck was I going to run it and survive? Drastic measures had to be made, so I joined two different running clubs (Nike Covent Garden Running Club - Which btw, is super fun & you meet a ton of amazing people ^^ & Fitness First running club), and joined the gym. I trained, but I still didn't feel like it was enough.

The fateful day came. Sunday 15th March. I completed my first ever half marathon with a PB of 2:33:32. Quite honestly, I am very shocked I made it in this time. I don't even know if it's good or bad, but heyyyy I finished it before they decided to pack up the whole event, so, to me, that was an amazing achievement and I am ecstatic. What do I love most about the event? The atmosphere. The buzz. The crowd. The cheers. It was just amazing. Would I do it again? Yes, I just love the results of it! Andddddd the food and shower afterwards was sooooo good! Everything tastes better after completing something like a half marathon :P I am so incredibly grateful and blessed to have been able to run with these two amazing runners! They have amazing spirit and finished in amazing times! You guys inspire me so much to become a better runner and I am incredibly grateful to be your friend.

This is literally a thing of beauty. A heavy one at that. But so beautiful all the same ^^ Next challenge? .... a marathon ....? Haha I kid, I'm not that crazy yet. Next challenge shall be Nike Women's 10K in June and Great Newham London 10K in July. Wahooooooo. #marathonjunkie.

Okay, time to crawl into my bed ^_^ .... JOKES, life isn't that kind, I still have work to do for class tomo .... T_T
